A first look is when the bride and groom see each other for the first time prior to the ceremony. It's a radical departure from the tradition of the groom not seeing his bride until she walks down the aisle, but it still delivers on nerves and excitement as the groom spins round to see his beautiful bride for the first time.
A first look also has practical benefits: it allows the couple to spend some time alone together before their guests arrive and it is often immediately followed by a photo session, the advantage of this being that the couple then don't need to leave their guests after the ceremony. First looks are very popular in the US and we're happy to see that they are also gaining popularity in Australia.
Sarah and Tristan were keen to have a first look before their ceremony at one of our favourite locations, Bells at Killcare on the Central Coast. We picked out a cute little bridge over a stream, brought Tristan into place, and watched excitedly as Sarah approached.
