Bali Wedding: Chloe & Jay
I've known Chloe for a few years now. She's a cool chick and super passionate about the environment. So when she announced her engagement it wasn't a surprise to hear she was thinking of having her wedding on the beautiful island of Bali.
Chloe's very organised and hands on, but anyone organising a destination wedding can do with a little expert help so she enlisted the services of Global Weddings. Together they quickly found the perfect location in the gorgeous Taman Ahimsa eco-resort, located right on the beach and set amid the agricultural belt near the popular Canggu region.
For Amy and I this was our first Bali wedding and last of the season so we were looking to empty our tanks and pour every last ounce of energy into it!
The day was typical Bali: warm, sunny and bit steamy. The bridal party spent the morning keeping cool in the pool, while the seventy plus guests who flew in from Australia and the UK were treated to hats, fans and cold drinks as they arrived.
Chloe looked stunning in her two piece outfit and was complemented by the tropical coral of her bridesmaids, while Jay and his boys took the cool, classic route with white shirts and grey trousers.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the local celebrant who, bless him, interpreted the pronounciation of Chloe as Clowe. It generated a lot of giggles and gave the bride a new name for the rest of the day!
We had spent quite a bit of time discussing timings during pre-planning and they worked out perfectly. The sun was on its way down as we took the family and bridal party photos by the beach, and by the time we headed to the nearby rice fields it was deliciously low.
The evening was a real party! Live music and entertainment, amazing food (including a dessert bar and late night satay station!), an absolutely brilliant first dance which went from the serenity of Wicked Game into a hectic streetdance routine, fireworks, a dress up polaroid photo station, and of course pool bombing!
It was an amazing wedding and a perfect way to close the season!
