Q: What happens when the A-Team find themselves locked in a barn with nothing but a few planks of wood and a rusty bucket?

A: They manage to build a fighter plane, right?

A similar phenomenon occurs when a group of wedding suppliers find themselves in a bar professional networking event, with the result being a slightly less dangerous concept for a styled photoshoot!

Now, some might say that styled shoots are like a busman's holiday; don't we style and shoot enough actual weddings not to need to create our own? Well yes we probably do. But styled shoots are just pure fun! They give us free reign to experiment and create our own stories and concepts without the pressures, risks or restrictions associated with paying clients. And they allow us to practice and push ourselves so at the end of the day it's our clients who benefit. Plus depending on which mix of suppliers you put together you get a completely different outcome each time. Just like Lego!

Three months ago I was at a professional networking event (yes, it was in a bar) with some of my closest friends in the industry. And sure enough out popped a concept of an intimate wedding just for two!

A crack squad of specialists was assembled and several weeks of planning, sourcing and shopping later we had secured a location, a luxury outdoor marquee, designer wedding dresses, shoes and jewellery, beautiful flowers, stationery and cakes, hair and makeup artists and of course two amazing models to play our bride and groom.

On the day it was all about preparation, styling and shooting. Everything went to plan and we all felt an enormous sense of achievement when we called it a wrap!

The reward for our efforts is a feature today on Australia's biggest wedding blog Polka Dot Bride! So please head over for a little look. I've also displayed some of my favourite images from the shoot below, so please enjoy!
