Transient

When I was a kid I wanted to be Han Solo, flying spaceships and destroying the Empire. It didn't happen.

In a similar way the only interest I had in weddings was the utter self-belief that one day I would bump into Princess Leia in the local shopping mall, whisk her away to Bromley and marry her, and then have lots of little Jedi kids. That didn't happen either.

But then I grew up and watched a movie that would change my life forever: Four Weddings And A Funeral. It was Hugh Grant's best man's speech that triggered something in me. To quote: "I am, as ever, in bewildered awe of anyone who makes this kind of commitment that Angus and Laura have made today. I know I couldn't do it and I think it's wonderful they can".

Those two, short, simple sentences made me realise that getting married isn't something that just automatically happens to everyone when they grow up. You have to be truly in love with someone; enough that you could spend the rest of your life with them.

And that's when I became fascinated with love

Twelve years later my move from London to Sydney completed the jigsaw. I was suddenly in one of the world's most photogenic cities and weddings took a completely different form to what I had experienced in the UK. Out went big, cold churches and stuffy suits, and in came sunny outdoor ceremonies set against breathtaking backdrops.

My passions for love and photography collided, sparks flew and I emerged as a shiny, new wedding photographer.

Since then my business has continually grown and now my wonderful girlfriend Amy travels with me as my second photographer, bringing with her more than ten years of experience in fashion and styling.

So here we are, working with couples who love each other more than anything else in the world, who appreciate professionally crafted photography, and understand that when the rings have been exchanged, the cake has been cut and the dances are done, the photos will be the only way to relive that amazing day.

If that sounds like you then please drop me a line or call me on 0424 531 368 and let's arrange to chat about your wedding plans over a coffee at our home studio in beautiful Bondi Beach!
